In my previous posts, I got the dimensions for ISO 4017 Machine Screws and DIN 931 Bolts. In Autodesk Fusion 360 I have drawn the ISO 4017 screws, along with ISO 5032 hex nuts, ISO 7091 washers, and ISO 4762 Socket screws. I have not done the DIN 931 bolts, […]
3D Printing
ISO 4017 specifies the form of metric-sized hex head screws, and covers thread diameters from M1.6 up to and including M160.
When doing anything more mechanical with 3d Printing, you will want to use bolts and other fixings; This is where DIN 931 comes in!
After the print yesterday, I wanted to know what the 100% sized eyes would look like. Having also thought a bit more; I can think of a better way of constructing the head, so that is back to CAD for a re-design. The 100% eyes seem to have printed only […]
I have started designing assembles in Fusion 360 using T-Slot, a lot of head scratching on how to make use of it at arbitrary lengths in my designs… I started by making a 20mm length of T-Slot as its own model in Fusion 360; This is model has all of […]
I found the ‘Picktor’ Pick and Place head for retrofitting on a 3D printer on Thingiverse (GitHub) As designed it uses a Nema 17 stepper motor, however I suspect that will be too big for my design. I got 3 x Nema 14 stepper motors from an old RepRap Huxley, […]
This is version one of a set of Left-hand Switches made for MiniBoyGeek’s Duplo Railway Yes there is already a version two waiting to print, with additional check rails and re-designed mechanism: You can find it on ThingiVerse here
I have been trying to design a K9 for 3D printing for a while, even using Fusion 360 getting the body design has been a stumbling block, On Facebook, there is a k-9 builders community and a link to a OneDrive account with 200 x 200 sliced STLs. I have […]
To avoid this joke in future, I have started printing my K9’s head by printing the two parts of the nose first:
After having a go at assembling the ears printed in the [[blog:k9_nose_gun|last post]], I decided to have a go at making something a little easier to assemble. [[wiki:projects:k9:reference:mat_prentis|Mat Prentis]] assembled this guide that gave me the dimensions below: Heading into Fusion360 I generated the following model: [[tag:thinkl33t]] Sliced it and […]
I can’t remember where I came across this paper on the design of a ball lock multi-speed transmission system, written by students at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology The SAE Mini Baja team requires a custom, multispeed transmission for their vehicle. Concurrent engineering with the Baja design team […]
